Saint Mary’s Relay for Life raises more than $17,500
WINONA,
Minn. — On
Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, the Saint Mary’s University community participated
in the Relay for Life. More than 175 students, faculty, and staff came
together to celebrate and remember those who have defeated cancer, those currently
battling cancer, and those who have
lost their lives to this disease. A record 22 cancer survivors were in
attendance. The event raised
more than $17,500 for the American Cancer Society and donations are still
coming in. Team members spent the night walking around SMU’s indoor track from
dusk to dawn to represent the 24-hour fight against cancer.
