Freshman class up 7.5 percent at Saint Mary’s University

WINONA, Minn. — Enrollment of new students continues to grow at Saint Mary’s University, with the Winona campus freshman class up 7.5 percent from a year ago. The official 10th-day-of-class count shows 373 freshmen enrolled this fall.

The total Winona undergraduate enrollment of 1,372 includes 1,318 full-time and 54 part-time students.

The larger freshman class contributes to an overall university enrollment that is expected to surpass 6,000. The official student count for Saint Mary’s Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs is taken in October.

“I often hear students and alumni talk about the quality education they experience at Saint Mary’s,” said Jim Bedtke, vice president for the College. “That quality is recognized by national ranking services and the National Survey of Student Engagement. The word is out: Saint Mary’s is an excellent place to prepare for your future.”

Saint Mary’s reports 1,370 Winona campus undergraduates

WINONA, Minn. — Official 10th-day-of-class statistics for the Saint Mary's University undergraduate College show a total enrollment of 1,370. That number includes 1,311 full-time Winona campus undergraduates and 59 part-time students.

A total of 347 freshmen are enrolled this fall, up 5 percent over last year.

Even though the freshman count is up, the overall undergraduate enrollment shows a slight decrease from the 1,404 recorded in fall 2009.

“The larger freshman class is evidence that students and families recognize the value of a Saint Mary's education,” according to Bob Conover, vice president for communication and marketing. “You can feel the energy and excitement these new students have brought to campus.”

Enrollment will be counted in October for the SMU Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs.

Saint Mary's reports 1,404 Winona campus undergraduates

WINONA, Minn. — Official 10th-day-of-class statistics at the Saint Mary's University Winona campus show a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,404 — just down from last year’s record enrollment of 1,413. The third-highest enrollment was in 2002, when Saint Mary’s reported a total Winona undergraduate enrollment of 1,376.

This year’s total of 1,404 includes 1,343 full-time Winona-campus undergraduates and 61 part-time students.

A total of 330 freshmen are enrolled this fall.

Enrollment in the Saint Mary's University Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs will be released later this fall.

Saint Mary's University reports record enrollment for Winona campus undergraduates

WINONA, Minn. — Official 10th-day-of-class statistics at the Saint Mary's University Winona campus show a total undergraduate record enrollment of 1,413 — up 4.7 percent from last year’s total of 1,350. The previous record was set in 2002, when Saint Mary’s reported a total Winona undergraduate enrollment of 1,376.

This year’s total of 1,413 includes 1,334 full-time Winona-campus undergraduates and 79 part-time students.

A total of 404 freshmen are enrolled this fall. The freshman class is the second-highest in Saint Mary’s history; the highest was recorded in 1988.

Enrollment in the Saint Mary's University Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs will be released later this fall.

Saint Mary's University reports increase in undergraduate and graduate enrollment

WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota reports enrollment growth at both the undergraduate and graduate program levels.

As of the fall "enrollment data freeze" dates, Saint Mary's has a total of 5,960 students, up 394 from last year's total of 5,566.

The number of graduate students enrolled is 3,918 (929 in Winona-based programs and 2,989 in Twin Cities campus-based programs). That number is up 170 from last year's enrollment of 3,748. An additional 692 bachelor degree-completion and undergraduate certificate students are enrolled, up 166 from last year's total of 526.

The undergraduate College at the Winona campus shows enrollment of 1,350, up 58 from last year's total of 1,292. (1,276 are full-time undergraduates and 74 are part-time and non-degree-seeking students.) The freshman class of 399 is the second-largest in Saint Mary's history. Adding in transfers and readmitted students, the total of new degree-seeking students is 455.

Saint Mary's University reports second-largest freshman class

WINONA, Minn. — Official 10th-day-of-class statistics at the Saint Mary's University Winona campus show a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,350, up approximately 4.5 percent from last year’s total of 1,292.

That number includes 1,276 full-time Winona-campus undergraduates and 74 part-time and non-degree-seeking students.

A total of 399 freshmen are enrolled this fall, 6 percent higher than in 2006. The freshman class is the second-highest in Saint Mary’s history; the highest was recorded in 1988. With transfers and readmitted students added, the total number of new degree-seeking students is 455.

Enrollment in the Saint Mary's University Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs will be released later this fall.
